Greetings all,

Our next meeting is Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. in the Magnolia Room of the Orange County Extension Office located at 6021 S. Conway Road, Orlando.

We will have a beekeeper forum discussing winterizing your bees, both here and in other states. This will be fun and interesting.

Also, one of our members has constructed a hive made of Lucite and he will bring it and tell you how to make one yourself. Sounds like a better alternative to the typical observation hive, as it is an 8 frame hive body!

David Webb has extracted more OBBA honey and bottled it for us. We have more honey left over so I have ordered another case of bottles and lids to give to David for our honey. The bottles left will be sold by myself and Chris Stalder during an event in Mt. Dora. I was contacted by Heather MacPherson of the Orlando Sentinel and asked to sell honey there. I expect to sell out, as it is a "foodie" event.

Please keep in mind, we need a new President, Vice-President and Secretary for the year 2010. We will have nominations and vote in November for our meeting then. We still plan to have our Christmas party in December and will install the new officers at that time.
