Thursday July 16, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at the Orange County Extension Center, Azalea Room. Jerry Hayes, Chief Apiary Inspector for the State of Florida Department of Ag., Consumer Services will give us a very interesting lecture. I don't know what it is about...but coming from Jerry it will be GREAT! Many of you know he writes a column for the "American Bee Journal" called "THE CLASSROOM". I always learn something new from that column.

June's meeting will be a very special event!

We will be extracting honey from 5 supers produced by OBBA bees at David Webb's honey house. We can bottle the honey there as well. I'll be ordering one pound queenline bottles so we can sell the honey. We'll all discuss how much we want to sell the pounds for.

We will be having a BBQ, David will cook pork butts and chickens so we are asking you to bring side dishes, plates, cups, drinks, utensils, napkins and ice. Please e-mail me with what you will bring so I can compile a list.

Saturday March 14ths workshop was a huge success and fun was had by all. Check our web page at orangeblossombeekeepers.org for photos. I'm sure you are in one of them!

Our April meeting will be Thursday, April 16, 7:00 p.m. at the Orange County Extension Office, located at 6021 S. Conway Rd., Orlando. Our guest speaker will be Richard Martyniak who will speak to us about Africanized bees and swarm catching. We will have a short movie, starring many beekeepers you know (like Richard!).
